They are always there when I need them. They fix it right the first time.

We had a new heating and cooling system put into our home with the air registers in the ceiling. I do feel like Mr. English was honest but lack of communication and lack of respect of the home owners created a nightmare. When we first contacted English Service Company, Jedidiah came by and looked over the house and gave us an estimate of the job and a time line of 4 days to complete it. He told us it would be a few weeks before he started the job and he was true to his word. He received a savings on the unit and passed it along to us, in which, I thought was very honest. My husband contacted Jedidiah a few times before the job started and asked for him to stop by and see what needed to be removed from the attic. We had quite a bit of stuff stored up there. He said it would be fine and they would need the area in the highest location as that is where the "trunk" would go. We really wanted him to come by so we could go over all the details with him. On the first day they started the job, we came home to everything taken out of our attic and stored in a bedroom we were in the process of updating. So we had to stop that until we could move everything out of the room and into the garage. Being this was the first time for a central unit to be put in our house, they had to build a return for it. We had showed him where he would be able to build one. On Tuesday, when I came home from work, the return was in the process of being build out of particle board. So I was thinking they were going to cover it with drywall like the rest of the walls are covered. NO it was covered with what looked like shower board. it was white and had a shine to it! This is an exposed wall that anyone could see and he thought it was ok to put shower board on and exposed wall in the hallway! Also the walnut stained wood trim was nailed up with white headed nails! I was so mad and disappointed I was in tears. When we asked him about it, he said he should have told you up front we don't paint! My husband and I have worked hard to make our home our own as we have stained all the trim and put up drywall and painted it and for Jedidiah to think this was ok and not even ask the home owner first! Also on the second day they were here working, one of them stepped through our bedroom ceiling. Jedidiah's fix was he instructed them to put an oversize  register there. When my husband talked with him over the phone the next day about it he was going to get some popcorn in a spray can and try to fix it that way! WHAT THIS IS OUR HOME AND HE SHOUD HAVE HAD RESPECT FOR US AND FIXED IT LIKE HE WOULD HAVE IT WAS HIS HOME! We requested they tear down the shower wall and my husband spent a weekend installing drywall and finishing it. He painted it and put up the trim as well. He also fixed the hole in our bedroom ceiling. The ceiling registers are all at different distance from the exterior wall. When he came by to give us estimate for the job, he said all the ceiling registers would be over windows. There is not one register that is over any window in our house. When asked his answer about the placement of the registers, he said the guys could not get over to the exterior walls. So if that was the case, the first register that was put in is only 3 feet from the exterior wall, the second one they put in is 4 feet from the exterior wall but the other ones are 7 feet from the exterior wall. There is no difference in the pitch of the roof in each of these locations! When Jedidiah was asked why the registers were like that, he said he made the call to just put them where they could without talking to the homeowners that are paying for the job and who will have to live with the mess! They installed a register that blows down on the stove! Come on who does that! Well now we know who does a mess like that! While they were cutting the spots in the ceiling for the registers, they did not cover anything up to try to help with the ceiling drywall dust from flying everywhere. I was so disappointed! I found hand prints of drywall dust on my fabric chairs and on a piece of furniture that was my grandfather's that's over a 100 years old. There was no respect at all of the home owners.  This process was just awful! The 4 days to complete the job turned into 9 days, yes nine long days! They used our front porch as their material storage. They also used the furniture on the front porch which is old as well to cut their materials on. This went on for 9 long days. So beware and ask a lot of questions and get it all in writing. Just for the record, the owner of the company did not come by at the end of the job to look it over and talk with us. One of his employees gave my husband the bill and collected payment! $250.00 was deducted from the final bill for the work we did. Also on the first day, one of the workers walked on our landscape timbers and broke it. They boarder a garden pond with small rocks filling in the area. It was fixed with him placing rebar stakes.
