I am writing to provide a review of my experience with the A W Parker, P.C. firm. This is a tax preparation firm and NOT a CPA firm. I understand the owner, Wes Parker, is NOT a CPA. I am not sure if he even has an accounting degree. I have found Mr. Parker to be clueless, inaccurate, unprofessional, uncaring, untimely/late, unfair and lacking in common courtesy and decency. Let me explain. While Mr. Parker believes his firm prepared our 2016 amended federal tax return, it (he) clearly did not. I am not certain why he thinks he did. Unfortunately, his firm did prepare our 2017 and 2018 returns. During the preparation process for both years, many errors were made by this firm. (I have a list of them and will provide them should Mr. Parker respond that no errors were made. I have draft returns prepared by his firm reflecting the errors.) After these errors were corrected and the returns were filed, EVEN MORE ERRORS were found and amended returns were filed for BOTH years. (I doubt Mr. Parker will deny making the errors necessitating the need for the amended returns, but if he does, I will reveal the additional errors made by his firm.) It has recently come to my attention that possibly EVEN MORE ERRORS were made for both years, necessitating the filing of additional amended returns for both years. Mr Parker is refusing to file these amended returns (at no cost to me), even though the additional errors most recently found were also clearly caused by his firm's negligence in my opinion. I consider Mr. Parker clueless as he did not even know for which years he prepared tax returns for us. I consider Mr. Parker inaccurate based on the numerous errors in our returns mentioned above. I consider Mr. Parker unprofessional as did not return all of my phone calls as well as many emails. He also did not anticipate the retirement of several long time employees, causing him to become stressed because of a lack of help during the tax preparation process. While he should have replaced the retiring employees timely, he possibly could have hired part time help to assist but he apparently chose not to do so. He complained to me that he was working 14 hour days and did not have time to spend on the phone giving clients updates (answers to their questions). While he told me he tells his clients they will be taken care of, he gave me NO confidence that he was taking care of me when he failed repeatedly to communicate timely or effectively. I consider Mr. Parker untimely/late as he refused to prepare a tax document for us which was time sensitive and which needed to be filed with the IRS. The document was so basic, it could have been prepared in 10-15 minutes. He not only failed to prepare the document but did not respond to repeated requests that he do so. He also failed to obtain personal ID numbers needed to file tax deposits after saying he was getting Debbie, my (his) specialist to get that going. This was in mid January. In mid March, he still had not obtained the personal ID numbers. I consider Mr. Parker uncaring as he refuses to prepare amended returns for us, resulting in our not receiving what I estimate to be two approximately $600 refunds. The time he would spend preparing such returns would be minimal in my opinion. I consider Mr. Parker unfair as he refuses to prepare the amended returns at no cost to us, even though the need for the amended returns is clearly due to errors made by his firm. I consider Mr. Parker lacking in common courtesy and decency. Why would a tax professional not return phone calls or promptly answer emails? Why would he leave clients wondering whether or not he is working on their returns? Why would he not prepare tax documents timely? Why would he make excuses rather than provide timely solutions? Why would he not adequately staff his office for the tax preparation period? I truly believe that Mr. Parker should prepare the amended returns at no cost to us because it is the fair thing to do.
