Huge fan of what Cath has done in this space. I'm in love with my plants. Great selection. Great spot to pick up a gift for someone on the Southside. Or plan your whole garden here.

I arrived in Chattanooga in 2019 and a friend recommended visiting Bees on a Bicycle because it was the perfect place for tourists and newcomers to the city. I've seen many garden centers in my life even in different countries and I fully agree when people say: Bees on a Bicycle is a gem in the city. A place where you can go and have fun with friends and family, a place where you can connect with new friends, a place where you can learn about Native plants, and also a place where you can volunteer and learn about a business day to day operation (as I do). I've been in this place many times, and let me tell you it's never getting old. Cath (the owner) always finds a way to surprise you with new pottery, hundreds of new plants, or a cup of tea. Bees on a Bicycle is more than a boutique garden center, is a fostering community that cares about people and the environment

We had a great time at Bees on a Bicycle over our recent trip to Chattanooga as a family. We were looking for offbeat things to do and building terrariums at this hidden-gem nursery came up as an option. As a horticulture major in college, this was an immediate draw for me, but also for our teenage kids. The owner of this fantastic store was so patient with us as we built the terrariums. They had a great selection of items for each one and the plants were all in exceptional health with good greenery and roots. As we put them together, she took the time to explain the how's and why's of the layers in their terrariums and that really made a difference. For them to hear horticulture stuff from someone other than me was awesome! Her time and energy devoted to our project was a personal touch that revealed the owner's passion for plants, but also for sharing it with others. I would definitely recommend this nursery for all of your plant needs - especially native plants. She's taking great care of them, that's for sure. But if you're interested in building a terrarium, which is honestly kind of a lost art these days, head over to Bees on a Bicycle and explore! Totally worth it, and what a great souvenir from our trip!
