I use to love this jerky kinda pricey but worth it. I have to get when driving through wheatland wyoming. So I decided to try ordering through sturgis meats. I ordereded 8 for free shipping.The peppered was not peppered at all contacted the company just to let them know. They said let me know what you ordered sorry we will replace your order. Never recieved that. so I figured I would try again with the redox still peppered wasn't peppered and haven't heard from them since....

Sturgis jerky used to be our familys benchmark for jerky. Over the years the price has increased significantly but because our kids love it, its a bonus treat in their Christmas stocking. And theyve always looked forward to receiving it. Last year, several of the packages we purchased had mold in them. After informing Sturgis, they provided a $5 credit . I gave them another chance this year and bought almost $200 of Jerky. Again.several packages had mold. Ive informed the company and am awaiting a response.

Terri Merry Christmas. Thanks for the review. Our products all leave our dock with intact vacuum seals. Occasionally during shipping seals do get compromised which exposes our products to air. Once exposed they can mold unless consumed right away or refrigerated. We use no chemicals in our jerky. It is a choice we have made as a company to keep our foods clean and free of chemicals for our families and our customers families health. Most of the large brands use lots of chemicals in their jerky specifically for this reason to extend shelf life. Our policy has never been to offer credit. It is to replace damaged product. I don't know who on our staff offered you a $5 credit last year but I see no record of that. You should have received product as a replacement. Just let us know how many packages were compromised during shipping and we will get new product right out to you. Thanks for enjoying our jerky over the years. We ship tens of thousands of orders all over the world during the Christmas season to families just like yours. I have love this jerky since I was 6 years old. Every time I travel, I would always buy it. Its pretty much a staple in South Dakota for traveling. Its a bit salty, tough to eat at times, expensive, pretty much the essence of South Dakota.

Today was my first time there and it wont be my last!! Im up here for the summer setting up the kitchens and cooking for employees and the owners and this place has good meat at fairly good prices considering everything has gone up!! My only complaint is that you cant see what youre getting cuz its all in the back. When I lived up in Tacoma I used to go to Stewarts meats and Sturgis Meats is very comparable just without the displays next time I stop in Im gonna make sure yo try their jerky cuz I believe Ive already tasted the best at Stewarts I just gotta make sure!!!

Matthew thanks for the good review on our meat. It sounds like dinner was a hit. We do have plans to revamp our small retail space before the Sturgis Rally this year. We will have a meat display case for custom cutting of steaks, a glass front freezer and 2 jerky/meat stick walls. That should all help customers find what they need while shopping. I think you will like the jerky too!
