Sharkey Plumbing & Heating

Mark, their plumber replaced my water heater that burst and flooded my basement about two months ago. While in my home, he felt the need to "help me" and move my AC unit's condensation drainage pipe. As a result, when I turned my AC on this month, the condensation flooded my machine and flooded my basement AGAIN! When I called him to fill him in on what his "help" did, he threatened to "never come to my house again then!" I emailed the owners of Sharkey with photos, a thorough explanation and the invoice from Precision Mechanical stating that Mark's adjustment of my pipe caused my AC condensation to flood into my unit. I had to have ServiceMaster come out to dry my basement (again!) A $697 bill that I simply asked Sharkey to pay for to make their plumber's error right. Anne, their sweet front desk lady called to tell me they were only willing to cover $200 of it and that Mark said he'll never come back to my house after this. I'm glad he won't! He specifically told me Sharkey's doesn't service AC units when I called about flood #2, so what made him think he could mess with mine a couple months ago!? Completely appalled with the way they run their business! I was warned about the owners being rude. Now I know from my own experience that they were right. I recommend ANYONE but them. I asked if they could come by and take a look at a small household job. If their price was reasonable I would tell them to do the job on the spot. They wanted to charge me two visits at $100 an hour and couldnt estimate until they left. They are trying to get paid for estimates. Any other contractor work it is free estimates and they are confident that they are competitive on their pricing enough to close the job. Unprofessional behavior on their part. I am going elsewhere.

Sharkey was amazing! We just moved into a home in Spearfish and had a leak under the sink. They were able to come out right away and did an amazing job. And at a great price too! Very knowledgeable and professional man that I enjoyed talking with.
