        Great! They take your scrap metal. We took old pots and pans, copper piping and license plates. Money for your scrap!

        Watch what they pay you for your scrap. They gave me tin price for 1000lbs of electric motors, transformers, and very large gear reducers. I was in a hurry and wasn't paying attention. There is more to this story but won't go into detail if this can be made right come Monday.

        Stopped into the Rapid City, Pacific Steel to dispose of a refrigerator that had compressor completely removed and all coolant removed from the appliance. I was told I was going to be charged to leave it there. Since when do I take a legally evacuated appliance to sell it for recycling, then pay for them to take it? I said no thank you, there are other options so I took it to a competitor and got paid !! Stopped there this morning with several clean steel wheels, and other scrap iron to sell (06-27-23) Gates were open, trucks on the scale overhead doors open with people standing there, (but I had steel so I have to go in the office first). I go up and open the door and there are employees standing inside of the office with work clothes, and the first person turned around and said Im sorry were having a meeting, then closed the door. I respectfully went on my way because I had other errands to run. I came back with the little scrap that I had which ended up only being 105 pounds but its steel that I dont want and they supposedly buy steel. I walked in and told him what I had for Steel and that it was all clean no mixed metals. He said are you wanting to just drop it off or do you want to get paid for it? Are these guys trying to go out of business or is there service really that poor? Ive been taking product to this location for at least 30 years and its a sad day when customer service gets to that level for an international company. I am in the customer service business myself. How many times do you get turned away before you go elsewhere. There are other options Rapid City. Choose wisely.,,,,,, That was my last stop at Pacific Steel and Recycling.
