Dakota Cardiovascular: Kelly Vaughn-Whitley, MD

From the moment we walked in the door, we knew we were going to have a good experience. We were warmly greeted by Mark Whitley (Dr. Vaughn-Whitley's husband) and soon after ushered to a room where the nurse, Brenda (also very pleasant), began the history and took vitals correctly/thoroughly. Dr. Vaughn-Whitley began the appointment a short while later, and we were so impressed with the detailed and thorough manner in which she put together my husband's history--no stone unturned. She also reviewed all of his previous tests beforehand to piece together an accurate assessment of his current risk factors for CAD. She took the time to listen, kept the interview targeted, and made us feel she would not cut the visit short until both we and she were satisfied. We had a previous negative experience with another cardiologist in town who put him through unnecessary testing and presented a hard sell for angiogram and stent placement even though there were no symptoms of cardiac compromise that would warrant it. Dr. Vaughn-Whitley is top-notch, knows her field, and recommended a conservative course of action (in keeping with AHA/ACC guidelines) since my husband presented with low risk factors for CAD . The entire staff was a perfect blend of professional and personable. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Kudos to all!
