Allen Ranch Campground

This campground is located just outside Hot Springs, within a mile of two grocery stores. Twelve RV sites. Sites one through eight are back in, shady. Sites nine through 12 are pull through in full sun. Electrical hookups (30/50) and water. Dump station located beside the office. Self check in with a phone number to call for tipi check in. Breakfast for $8 is served daily. Some tent sites available along with Tipis that can be reserved. Payment is by cash or check. Passport America discount good for three nights. The back in sites back up to a beautiful little river.  Unfortunately the bushes keep you from getting a clear view of the river. But, open your back window and the let the running water serenade you to sleep at night. The roads in the campground are dirt as are the RV sites. The entrance is a bit steep and there are deep ruts in the road. While navigable, this section of road is in dire need of being graded. With our 30ft 5th wheel we had to back up to the bushes to keep the bow of the camper out of the road. I suspect a 40 ft camper would be tight in the back in these spaces. Great campground along the river, nice scenery, solid amenities, and clean. The owner was fantastic, friendly, and super helpful.

Allen Ranch is one of those places you pull into wondering why it has 5 stars and by the time you leave, you completely get it! Could use a little updating, but the people running it and the guests are super nice. Showers are nice and 🔥 hot! We esp enjoyed meeting Tim, cook & all-around handyman. Going to try his recipe for Elderberry Rosehip & Echinacea tincture. Only recommendation is a light at entrance, esp at night. And maybe signage before entrance as gps says to pull in at neighbors entrance (go down road another 500') Thanks for a nice stay and great 🥞 breakfast!
