If building a house is one of the most stressful and financially consequential decisions, the right choice of builders is vital. Having Russ Johnson build our house was the best decision we could have made, especially since the building project was located 360 miles away and frequent site visits were limited by the severe winter weather. Russ was absolutely reliable, a great sounding board for ideas, always supportive, a meticulous on site manager of the project, and has well developed connections to and good relationships with subcontractors. The project came in on time (no mean feat given weather) and on budget. You cannot go wrong with Russ Johnson as your builder. We couldn't have done better.

Russ built a vacation home for us and we couldn't be happier with it or him. He listened to what we wanted and together we formed a shared vision. As that vision evolved Russ was there to guide us every step of the way. Russ is fond of saying you have to enjoy the process and we really did. He does not compromise on quality, visiting the site daily and making sure his sub contractors hold to his same high standards. Several trades people who have done additional work since completion have all commented on how well built it is. We highly recommend Russ if you want someone who really provides excellent customer service and quality craftsmanship.

Fantastic builder, one of the best in the Black Hills! I've seen a few homes built by Russ Johnson, they all have been so beautiful. I've worked personally with them, very professional and pay attention to details. I highly recommend.
