Hotel is a little dated and tired. Bed wasn't the most comfortable and the room was just "so-so," but the lady that was running the place (assuming the owner) was absolutely wonderful. After a long day of travel, her warm welcome was definitely inviting and made us feel so comfortable. We were checked in right away upon arrival and were greeted by a super sweet set of twins (ok it was a dog and cat but they were both orange so that counts as twins, right?).
After attempting to have dinner in town, we were a little freaked at the shear amount of people in town - non of them wearing masks, so we returned to the hotel. The front desk lady was super nice and recommended a pizza joint that delivered right to our room. As we were heading back down the hall to our room we heard her talking to another older gentleman that was looking for bottled water. The soda machine had apparently run out. The front desk lady told the man to wait just a minute and she would run to her house (which I am assuming was on site) and brought him one from her own cooler at no charge.
When we eventually return to Deadwood, when Covid doesn't prevent us from seeing the sites, we will try to book here. Much more quiet than the in town hotels and customer service is an A+.

It was really run down, beds were hard for us, there was no pool access, and when we got to the hotel, it was more expensive than online.

Terrible place. Advertised as pet friendly. We drove 300 miles and when we got there we were told we couldn't leave our pet in the room. Deadwood is a destination location for food and gambling etc. Can't leave a pet in a hot car. We couldn't stay there and couldn't find another room. Had to drive 300 miles back home. Ruined our anniversary weekend. The lady at the desk was very dishonest and hard to work with.

Such a fun place to stay. The scenery is amazing and hiking path is pristine.
