Charleston Passport Center

I filed my passport last year September and now were enable first still havent received my passport. No one from the agency has tried to reached out to me and let me know whats going on with my passport. Very very poor service with Charleston agency.

I have to say I was very nervous when I learned our passport request was sent to Charleston after reading all the negative reviews. I am thrilled to say we sent off our packets from Brunswick county nc on Feb 9 2024. I received our passports in the mail today so not even 3 full weeks. Yes!!!!

Completed Application @ My Local Post Office On: May 15, 2023 (For my son whos 10) Online Tool Stated: Passport Application received on May 23, 2023 Applied For Routine Processing: 10 to 13 weeks. Application Status changed to approved on September 1st which was on the 10th week. On September 2nd his application status changed to Shipped I paid an extra $19 for overnight shipping. His passport arrived on the next day September 3rd

The bad reviews had me really nervous when I discovered my passport application had been sent to Charleston. But I ended up getting ultra-fast, seamless service: submitted my expedited passport application at my local post office 01/08/24 and received my passport, at my house, 01/24/24. (I did purchase express return shipping as well.) My documents arrived back in a separate mailing 5 days later. Hope all those still waiting have swift resolutions.

I have had nothing but problems with this passport center. First of all they notified me online that they needed additional information, but decided to send the letter "snail mail took 10 days" despite my indicating that I preferred email notifications. I had a duplicate birth certificate from my home city county building that did not have my parents names on it. So I had to reorder one. Now they are telling me that my name on my application does not match the name on my birth certificate(maiden). So now I have to send them my marriage certificate, I only have a certified copy and I hope that is sufficient. I'm wondering why it is that they didn't check to see if there were any other discrepancies, when they found the first one, it could have saved a lot of time. Or better yet this should have been brought to my attention at the Post Office during my appointment when I submitted my application . I called the center to inquire as to what documents could I use, and how to go about having them certified. The representative, couldn't even tell me that, I and all the while was giving me attitude. I asked to speak with her supervisor, who was nearly as clueless as the rep was. What a nightmare. Also please be aware that the Passport Status, does not reflect the actual status, they never bothered updating mine when they received the documents and started processing my application again....even though that's what the site claims is their policy. I am so very frustrated and disgusted with this center. I recently found out that I could have just gone to a center and applied in person, which is what I wished I would have done. This Passport Center is terrible, and just to think I paid for expedited service. The only thing I received quickly was stress!
