Scott and the whole team at Hege's were amazing on a busy St. Patricks Day weekend! We sat at a twotop in the bar area and Tiffany was our server. She was amazing and really helped make the night special. The food and drinks are always exceptional. We had the crab and shrimp cocktail and steak tartare for starters and for dinner the blackened redfish and steak frites. Hege's lives up to the Kiawah Island experience.

Delicious, great service, but sleazy. Who charges a dollar to make a drink on the rocks. Yup, a buck for a few ice cubes. Not once, but on both my seatmate's drinks. Really? How chintzy! We all thought the supplementary fee for using a credit card was tacky, but charging for ice? Also, pass on the 7 dollar sip of expresso. Note to owner: Nickle and diming customers leaves one with a bad taste in ones mouth despite the delicious food. People are going to drop a couple of bills to eat there, so grubbing for an extra buck makes you look ticky tacky and greedy. Part 2: Many thanks for your response. I asked our server at the Royal Tern this evening about the "buck for ice" question. She confirmed your response, so my apologies for that. She did however agree with us that the supplementary fee for using a credit card was a stretch. We backchecked our first visit to your resto and noted that the supplementary fee was not added to that bill. Is this a new feature? Maybe worth the price as we each had five bucks of fun laughing about it. Also had an excellent halibut that evening. As delicious as the tuna I had last night. So, apologies for the ice thing. Was not explained the why, but am satisfied that it's a real thing. The expresso was good, but not that good.

Rehearsal Dinner Heaven! Heges knocked our socks off with their attention to detail, kindness to us and our 150 or so guests, and served out of this world food! Co-owner Scott, made planning our sons rehearsal dinner so easy -he is such a nice guy- and his staff was incredible; truly on top of a very complicated schedule. Our guests were gushing about the food! More than once I was told it was the best fish they had ever eaten and the lobster ravioli was to die-for. Everything, from the seafood setup, the passed hors doeuvres, and the station was exceptional. They were flexible when I asked to bring in a grooms cake, accommodating with set up, timing and menus, super professional and really MADE the wedding weekend for us. It was a huge undertaking. We were thrilled with how the evening went. Thank you Heges!!!

The $1 dollar rocks charge is not for the ice. For certain drinks we give you more alcohol in that particular drink hence the $1 dollar charge. I agree "nickel and diming " customers is not our business model. The price of the espresso is charged for the quality of the product. Im glad you enjoyed the food.
