My wife and I rented a tandem bike. Rode for 20 mins and the chain broke. We asked for a refund rather than switching out the bike since my wife is pregnant and was a little shaken after the experience. They refused to refund us for the day. Super disappointed, especially since we have been renting with them every year. Will rent from another shop.

We called at noon on a Saturday to place an order to rent bikes per the usual and were told they cant promise delivery by 4pm but to stop in to rent and we could just ride them to our condo. So we stopped in 15 minutes before closing to rent 7 bikes to find employees unwilling to help us and an unfriendly big dog barking me down as I walked in the store. They said they couldnt help us because some of the staff went home and couldnt unlock the bikes (note at least 2 staff were there). We promptly went to a competitor who was closing up shop for the day but happily rented us bikes we needed that night for the week. Never had an issue with Pedals before this and rented many times before.
