Prisma Health Outpatient Mammography–Patewood

I went here for my first ever mammogram. Happy 40th to me! They were fantastic. They were all kind and explained what was going to happen. It was way better than I expected.

I have had 2 mammograms performed here and both times I have had a pleasant experience. I did not need a doctor to refer me, they allowed me to make an appointment without one. They offer 3D imaging now as well.

An absolute nightmare! I was scheduled for an emergency mammogram by my surgeon for a medical concern regarding a lump on my neck. As a first time patient at Patewood Outpatient Center Mammography (Prisma Health Breast Center), I felt truly unwelcome. The mammogram technician was extremely rude and started berating me and belittling me immediately. She had horrible bedside manner and complained about not having my previous mammogram (even though the front desk told my husband that they did have all the required records). The technician refused to conduct the breast exam even though my surgeon was waiting on it. She was asking rapid fire questions about who scheduled me. After 20 minutes or so, she apologized and conducted the mammogram, but the damage was already done. I felt terrible for inconveniencing them even though I was the patient. It seems that the staff has a communication problem and a low emotional IQ. If you are considering this place for your medical care, I strongly advise you to do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
