Mama Kims

Went down for a family vacation and had to stop in since it was almost exactly 20 years since I last ate here. Still as good as I remembered it being. I always get the teriyaki chicken bowl and always enjoy every bite of it.

Just a small place, a hidden gem, but a nice surprise with the food! Fresh and delicious! My grandson who attends The Citadel took us there. He had been before and she treats him to a free drink because he is in uniform. "Mama" Kim taking good care of our young people and feeding them well at a reasonable price! Thank you Mama Kim, we'll definitely come back next visit to Charleston!

So my wifey wanted to go on a date with me. We decided to head downtown and walk around. It's started to get late and we were hungry. We didn't want the regular fast food or pizza. As we were walking on the sidewalk on Calhoun St. The amazing aroma filled our sense of smell. We looked at each other without saying a word and smiled! We caught the aroma again as a customer walked out the door with a smile. So we walked in! The staff was happy, helpful and engaging. Mama Kim's staff went right to work making our food with no hesitation. Let me tell you.. the rice was fresh!! The steak was tender and cooked to perfection. My wife's food came out hot, fresh, and perfect as well. Hands down, the cook knows what he's doing back there. I give will continue to come back to Mama Kim's. Your staff was unbelievable happy and helpful. Again, your rice was on point and not dried out and the steak was awesome. From my family to yours Mama Kim's.... We love ya and we will be back as soon as possible!!!
