image I stayed here for the worst 3 months of my life. Most of the staff showed favoritism and there point system sucked i know a poor girl who stayed for almost a year i was on so much meds here i felt constantly drugged.they would take away phone calls and everything if u spoke when your werent spoken to the lady who owned this her and her husband had the right intentions but the wrong staff who i believe where there for just money and to take out there anger on us girls the djj in ridgeville was better than this placement i never was one to stir up anything but while i awaited placement i was happier then when i got here the also feed u the same food 5 out of the 7 days and if you didn't eat it all you got a suicide watch which put you in whites. All im saying is these 3 months sucked i woulda rather have been in djj.

image I lived there. I can't say that I enjoyed it at all. The people who worked there showed a lot of favoritism as well as were extremely judgmental. Its supposed to resemble a home... But what home have a 10 foot barbed wire fence around it? What family of any kind would take away everything including your clothes when you got into trouble. You were only allowed a 7 minute bathing period. I remember the sign on the doors... 1 minute to get undressed. 5 minutes to bathe. 1 minute to get dressed. For the girls who fear for their lives because of there allergy to bees and wasps were forced to walk by active wards and been nests when we were able to walk out the front door and around to the back yard. When the put us in "all whites" we werent allowed to talk to anyone except the staff and even then we would get ignored. Along with when you first arrive and they tell you about the "all whites" rule, they explained there was no where to go if you ran away. And of you were in all whites it kept you from being shot at by people who live miles down the roads in both directions. I would NEVER recommend this place to anybody. Its not worth putting a child who has been through a lot of traumatizing life experiences... Through something so terrible like Ashleigh Place.

image I wont go in great detail on how im associated with this place, except to say that this is a high management facility that houses troubled teen girls, many in foster care due to being abused in their own homes.
In saying such, i give this place one star due to the nature of some of the practices exercised here. This place is deceiving, it looks like a house and many arrangements mimicked home life, but this place is not what it seems. Sadly, i saw many barbaric things take place here and i wouldnt recommend this establishment to my worst enemy. Frankly, this place needs to be investigated thoroughly and shut down if it cannot comply with the basic, loving needs many of these girls desperately need.
I can only hope this place has, or will, improve its staff to child relations and that consideration is made to do away with practices that were clearly designed to impose humiliation and control on a group of girls already traumatized by abuse.
