I hired WJ Auto Top & Interiors to install the interior on my 65 VW Beetle Herbie replica.
When I dropped the car off and I noticed the owner was moving the car to the inside of his shop and he did not know the shift pattern of the manual transmission. I showed him what it was and I left. Mind you that the manual transmission was working fine and was just rebuilt a month before I dropped the car off.
When I went to pick up the car when the work was finished, I left the shop and noticed I could not get into third gear.
What had happened was that since the owner did not know the shift pattern he ended up bending the shift linkage. I called him when I first notice the problem. He told me he would cover the cost of the repair. It ended up costing me $400 to have it fixed.
When I went back to him with the bill he did a 180 and said the car was like that when I dropped it off and he was having a hard time shifting it when he was moving the car around. It's a shame. They ended up doing a decent job but they were dishonest and condescending and they did not take ownership for their mistake. Would not recommend.
