I am 73, retired research scientist, blind in left eye, with my head fastened to my body via 23 pieces of titanium hardware surgically embedded in my spine. My credit score is somewhere north of 800. I have been a customer of Blosenski for over 25 years. It used to be a great, efficient, friendly, inexpensive family-owned company. My waste disposal needs are modest, & I originally left BFI around 1995 for Blosenski, since Blosenski offered an on-call pickup service that exactly suited my modest needs. Then around a year or so ago they abruptly raised costs by ca. 1000%, from about $30/yr to almost $300/yr. When I called to inquire what was going on, I was told they were losing money on me because I did not generate enough trash (!). They leaned heavily on me to engage in a contract, which I refused, insofar as remaining an on-call customer was still slightly cheaper than regular full-time scheduled pickup which I just do not need. In addition to a quarterly "account fee", they doubled the price of on-call stickers & then added a "fuel surcharge" that was an unplesant surprise. Last week I called to request an on-call pickup and to order some additional on-call stickers. I discovered they have instituted an automated phone system that requires you to jump thru a bunch of hoops, then responds with, "You are caller number number XX (where xx is always > 20), please wait and someone will be right with you shortly." Like an idiot, I waited. And waited. And waited... 48 minutes! Meanwhile listening to putrid wait music, interspersed with hypocritical messages in sweet tones assuring me my call will be answered by "... one of our experienced personnel". Other fulsome messages included, "We welcome your comments and suggestions on how we can better serve you." Lies!!! How can you make a suggestion if you can't even get thru for service? During these calls you get a countdown that fools you into believing you will soon be talking to someone, like "you are now caller 25... you are now caller 21... 17... 14...12... 9... 5... 4... 2...1" etc. When you finally get down to #1, you are answered by a recorded voice that dumps you into voicemail with a promise to return your call as soon as possible... all so sweetly. Thus far no return call has been made. For on-call customers like me, this is a disaster, since the trash is building up in my kitchen & I have no idea when, if ever, they will respond to arrange the pickup. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO??? This is becoming a health hazard! Being unable to contact them for an on-call pickup, I am now paying for service not received, which is theft. The automated phone system is a sublime form of customer abuse... even more so for elderly customers. The Township has announced they are issuing them a Citation for Health Code Violation... they are so big they laugh at local municipal codes! Do they care? "...We don't need no stinking codes!" This company is too big, too powerful. It needs to be stopped, then chopped.

No delighted to have post Xmas pick up delayed 4 days. I had to reach out to them, poo customer service and communication.
