My wife had a c t scan this afternoon, she told the technicians she was hard to get an I V started and usually they use a butterfly needle. The tech said they couldnt use a butterfly needle because of the iodine. So after 3 technicians and four failures they called in a person on the I v team and she started it . This is Not acceptable they didnt even wrap the one stick they just left it open. Dogs and Cats get better care at the vets. I took a picture of her arm wrapped and not wrapped. Who ever that is responsible for these untrained people should be ashamed to be in the medical field.

Everytime I come here I have an awful experience. This hospital (specifically the ER) is so poorly run and they dont seem to care about their patients well being at all. On my last visit I was given an iv and it was put in incorrectly. My entire arm was in throbbing pain and immobile. I told the staff this multiple times, stating that it is painful and that I think there is something very wrong. They brushed me off time and time again and told me I was just anxious and needed to calm down. When I finally reached out to a new, more empathetic nurse she actually looked at my arm and told me the iv was not in my vein and the fluid was infiltrating my tissue. She said this could have been very dangerous and even deadly if something other than saline was put into my arm. I ended up with a huge bruise and swelling in my arm for multiple days following. The gaslighting by the staff did not end with the iv problem, though. I came into the ER that day based on a referral from a doctor who stated my blood pressure was extremely Low and heart rate was very high. The doctors at this hospital once again stated that this was anxiety, refused to listen to my explanation and concerns, and made me feel very small and incompetent. It is extremely hurtful to have an experience like this when you are already in pain and scared of what is going on with your body. This did not end up being anxiety after all, and I was diagnosed a few weeks later with a heart condition that a more understanding doctor took the time to figure it out. I have a hard time understanding why this hospital continues to hire staff that do not care about their patients and are simply concerned with emptying the beds as quickly as possible so they can move on to a new patient and gaslight them. The unfortunate thing about this is that it was not an isolated experience, and I have time and time again been made out to feel stupid by the doctors who I am trying to receive help.
