The Atherton Hotel, An Ascend Hotel Collection Membe

It was ok. Older hotel with very cool decor. The biggest issue was the heating/ac system in the room. There was no constant fan mode so the room would cool down the heat up over and over all night long. Comfortable beds and decently clean. Would stay again but definitely will try another hotel in the area first.

The room was not clean and grossed me out with unknown hair. The desk was covered with dust, human hair and small pieces of paper. The floor was also dusty with small pieces of paper. The bathroom smelled like urine. The front desk intern told me that there was nothing she could do, but calling housekeeping to clean up right away. After three hours, when my family came back to the family suite, the room remained dirty and still grossed me out with unknown hair on the desk. The tray for the water glass were still covered with dust. Also, the water glasses had a few weird marks on them. Then, I open the blanket and found a few unknown brown looking pieces on the bed. It was extremely unpleasant staying. Rooms: The room was filthy.

Was there for a conference. The conference rooms were very small and got crowded easily. The hotel was nice clean.

This was our first time staying at a Graduate Hotel. And we look forward to trying another one in another city in the future. This particular one needs some updating and overall cleaning especially the lobby windows. Rooms: We were put in a handicapped accessible room( my booking mistake) and even though it wasn't what we wanted it was ok. However, if I was a handicapped person I wouldn't have been happy with the room( bathroom in particular). The bed was comfortable and low to the ground which I believe is a plus, however, the bathroom needed some mechanical attention. The faucet was loose and looked like it was put in by a inexperienced worker, and the shower was also needing repair. The water came out of both the shower and the handheld sprayer at the same time but not individually unfortunately. Making the shower unpleasant. Very low water pressure. Nearby activities: Great location for visiting the Great variety of eating establishments in State College. Walkability: Very close to the Penn State campus and College Ave Food & drinks: The hotel does offer and restaurant and bar. And although we did not eat here, we did enjoy a cocktail Noteworthy details: The staff at the hotel was professional and courteous. We really enjoyed talking with them and appreciated them!
