        We live 100 miles away from Shadyside Hospital. When Family House was recommended as a place to stay it was the answer we needed. It is so very nice, comfortable, with all amenities including a great kithcen to prepare one's own food. Breakfast is frequently provided as well as dinner by local volunteer organizations. The chance to speak to others who had a family member hosptialized lifted my spirits. The room was very comfortable. And because it is across the street from the hospital, I was able to be there in 10 minutes when needed in the middle of one night. What a godsend this place was. The reasons for being there might be very distressing but the place, the staff, the other visitors all offer comfort to get a person through a bad time.
