I am temporarily giving The Greek Gourmet (known to some as Peppi’s Greek Gourmet) a ONE Star rating because, frankly, I think it is either out of business or closed for an extended period of time and none of that information is made public anywhere online; their webpage or here on Google Maps. In addition to it very likely being shutdown, the hours of operation & the menu prices here on Google Maps are both wrong. Let me elaborate... I was dining at a local Pittsburgh restaurant on Monday where they were serving Peppi’s Greek Gourmet hummus & it was THE BEST hummus I’d ever eaten! Like, seriously, unbelievably delicious!! So, naturally I looked them up online & here on Google Maps. Both said that they opened at 11am everyday & the Google Guide Reviews were absolutely glowing, so the very next afternoon (Tuesday) I planned my trip to Squirrel Hill, very excited for the best hummus in town. But when I got there I was surprised to see that a sign on the window said CLOSED. The posted hours of operation also had Monday’s & Tuesday’s scratched out with a black marker. I then peeked in the windows & the place appeared to be in utter disarray. The shelves & coolers in the store-front were completely bare & it looked like the place had been abandoned for some time. I also noticed that all the prices on the menu hanging inside had tape over them with a different dollar amount written on top of the tape. Since I drove all the way over there & now wanted answers, I decided to call the store in hopes of getting a message telling me the correct hours of operation or perhaps an explanation as to why the store seemed abandoned (“closed for remodeling” perhaps), but all I got was an immediate phone-company-recording saying something along the lines of “sorry, this line is busy”; the type of recording you get when a number is no longer in service or when there is a problem with the line. It’s hard to convey the shear disappointment I was feeling at that moment. I reallyyy wanted some of that fantastic hummus!! ;) lol! I even called again this afternoon (which is now Wednesday of the same week) & once again got the “line is busy” recording. —As a Level Six Local Google Guide I felt that it was my duty to come here & pass the word along about what I’d discovered; a dark, dusty, empty Peppi’s. I’m hoping that this shutdown is just temporary. If that is the case, I will gladly make my way back to Squirrel Hill once/if they reopen, eat the hummus (& probably eat that yummy-sounding gyro I’ve heard such rave reviews about, too!) & share my findings & opinion with the Google Maps/Guides Community. And if anyone knows what’s happening over there at the Greek Gourmet, I urge you to helpfully pass it along. Thanks! I hope this review helps & prevents others from getting their hopes for some delicious hummus up & making a fruitless trip across town for nothing... like I did :( **Edit: I submitted an edit for the hours of operation that appear here on Google Maps & that edit has been accepted & updated.**

Awesome gyros. Been going there since the 70ds great Greek food.highly recommend
