For our anniversary I decided to purchase my husband a custom suit from Ernesto's. I was worried at first since nothing usually fits him and he's so picky, but Darren was so helpful in finding the perfect suit for him. I couldn't be more thrilled with my experience and will definitely be recommending to all of my friends! Thank you so much Darren!

Ernesto's is not only the best custom tailor shop in Philadelphia, it may be the only true tailor shop left in the city. I had a custom pattern for a 3-piece suit made for me, based on a 1930s pattern system. The suit, naturally, is cut very differently from today's suits. Tailor shop after tailor shop refused to take on the project, because they had "their own system." What this means is that they work (as most custom/made-to-measure shops work) from pre-existing sized patterns ("slopers"). For the other shops I contacted, the work is done overseas, and so there is a limit to what they can and will do, merely adjusting their pre-existing patterns. Darren, at Ernesto's, readily agreed to take on this custom project, as his tailoring is all done locally, and he himself is a tailor who "cuts" and so he understands and can work with any patterns. Darren worked very patiently with me, working through all the details, making a mock-up suit (a "muslin") to ensure everything was right. The finished product is a work of art. It fits to perfection and has every detail just right. I cannot recommend Ernesto's highly enough -- if only there were more than 5 stars
