TLDR: These people are petty, dishonest, and unethical. They scammed me. They did not do an alteration as requested and then refused to refund me the costs I had paid for that work. This is my experience with them:I had them do several alterations on my wedding dress, which included hemming and bustling. They knew my dress had many layers and had quoted me $300 for the entire job. They made me prepay the full $300 cost up front, claiming all other customers do too. I was reluctant but I trusted them, so I paid the full $300. (I later read from the reviews here that they only required other customers to pay half the price upfront--therefore it was unethical since day 1 that they made me prepay the full costs). When I went to pickup the dress, they told me they could not do the bustling. However, despite not doing the bustling, they REFUSED to refund me for the fair cost of the bustle. Because the receipt did not itemize the costs of each alteration, they arbitrarily claimed the bustle would have cost them $10 and therefore they did not want to refund me more than $10. This was ridiculous to hear---The cost of bustling from talking to other brides and doing research is in the $150-200 range. To have them say it would've costed them $10 was a complete slap in the face. I should have gotten a refund for at least $150 but they refused. They are dishonest. I rightfully should have gotten a few hundred dollars in refund, but they only refunded me $25. I am still left with an unfinished wedding dress that I have to pay yet another tailor to finish. Because of their lack of integrity and dishonest business practices, I am stuck with a net loss of a couple hundred dollars and a lot of stress and anxiety. Planning a wedding is already stressful enough and I did not need this added stress from a tailor shop. To add: The alterations they did manage to do on my dress were extremely poor work---the hemming was uneven and the bra pads were loose. The dress had a million loose threads of different colors stuck between the layers from other customers' clothings. I had paid them $300 to basically give me back an incomplete and dirtied dress. Nothing about this experience was worth even 1 star. I wish I could give it 0 stars. They are thieves. They are petty. They are dishonest. They are unethical business owners. Take your alterations elsewhere.

Beware - One of the worst in the city. Extremely overpriced and laughably unreliable. I dropped off 3 pants and a jacket. The owner called to tell me it was ready. The jacket was misplaced and when he found it it still had the pins in it from when I dropped it off. He also altered the waist when I asked him to taper the legs. 174 dollars later and none of my clothes fit. Save your time and money, go somewhere else. This is the place to go if you need serious alterations, not just a hem. Really can figure out how clothes lay when you take things in or change them and does a really good job.

DO NOT COME HERE FOR YOUR WEDDING DRESS ALTERATIONS (or for any clothing alterations for that matter). They are incompetent and dishonest. I asked them to do several alterations on my wedding dress, one of which was to add a bustle. When I went to pick up the dress, they said they weren't able to do the bustle due to the many layers of my dress. They had forced me to prepay the full bill on an earlier visit (which I had hesitations against but naively agreed to do), so I expected them to now refund me for the cost of the bustle since that work was not done. However, they refused. At first, they adamantly refused to refund me at all. After arguing back and forth for an hour, they then claimed that bustling my dress would've costed only $10 and therefore they could not refund me much more than that. To me, the $10 price was ridiculously low to bustle any dress, let alone for a wedding dress of 5 layers like mine. You'll see that the receipt (attached) is very minimalist. It says "hem" and "fix". They used this receipt as evidence from refunding me to say that the bustling was not specifically written on the receipt and therefore the bustling price was not even quoted for originally--which is absolutely ridiculous because if the bustling truly wasn't included in the original quote, then they would not have attempted to bustle the dress in the first place to now be able to tell me their attempt had failed. It was all complete BS. It was also ridiculous to me that I, the customer, am somehow responsible for what they decide to write or not write on the receipt. On the first day when we dropped off the dress, the Korean man had verbatim repeated everything that was to be done on the dress and then quoted us and gave us the receipt. I trusted him and therefore did not make a big fuss that the receipt didn't include any specifics as to the alterations requested. The Korean lady was not there on the first date when we were quoted for the list of alterations; yet, on the day of pickup, she argued with us and kept saying the receipt didn't mention the bustling and that we were way under-quoted for the alterations requested. This was outrageous to hear because it should NOT fall back on me the customer when the business itself misquoted or miswrote the receipt. I am mind blown by their lack of logic and reasoning. I clearly felt scammed but there was really nothing I could do because they absolutely REFUSED to give me a fair refund, even after we argued with them for over an hour on how ridiculously unfair it was that they were holding my money hostage. In addition to the bustling debacle, one of the bra pads they sewed on was very poorly done. One stitch was haphazardly sewn onto the outside of the neckline and thereby visible; the corner of the pad itself was also peeking out. It is unfathomable that any tailor would have sewn this and thought "my work here is done". I wish I had a photo to show how obviously ugly and out of place it looked. Additionally, as we were in the shop arguing with them, they were actively lintrolling my dress. Ironically, they can't even lintroll properly because my dress still has tons of little threads stuck in its layers. I don't know about you, but when I pick up a dress from a professional tailor where I paid hundreds of dollars, I expect the dress to be done as requested, lint-free, and handed to me quickly. I did not expect to have to pay for 1+ hours of parking when picking up my dress, only to leave the store in tears and with a half-completed dress that I paid full price for. It's worth mentioning they'd first called me after 2 weeks to say my dress was ready. When I showed up, only 2 of the 4 alterations had been done and both were terrible (crooked hems & uneven boob pads). I should've seen the warning signs then. The Korean woman was present that day and would have heard the exact items to be altered, including the bustling. It was actually at THIS visit she asked me to pay my bill. I am no conspiracist, but this made me suspect she intended to cheat me because she was already aware the bustling would be a flop but still wished to secure full payment, knowing full well what would (and did) conspire at my third/final visit.I thought as an Asian person, I would support this Korean-run business and therefore picked this place to alter my one &only wedding dress. It breaks my heart that I have to write such a negative review for them. Please know that I am speaking from my honestly traumatic experience.I'm upset at myself for uselessly spending an hour trying to talk sense into them at the shop, and am even more upset that I have spent yet another hour+ writing this review.  But I am most upset that my dress is still unfinished and that I have to spend more time searching for and paying another tailor to complete a job that I already paid Royal Custom Tailor to do.Please save yourself the heartache and stress and get your alterations done elsewhere.
