A lot of people love this place, but for me it was just Ok. The food was good but I was expecting something a little better for the price I paid.

Food is delicious. Love the pork shoulder. Great atmosphere. One downside is that bathrooms stink and need cleaning.

I've been coming here for years. I eat out at least 3 times a week for dinner and every day for lunch so I really do know my restaurants. I travel 20 weeks of the year and eat in all major cities. Derek's is incredibly consistent and it is so comforting to know I can come back there whenever I want and get the one thing I am craving! On my last visit, my waiter remembered that I like my rocks on the side of my chilled vodka and bought them without my asking. Besides being there for me whenever I want them they also always have an incredible array of specials. In this day and age, all of the "hot" restaurants have such small menus with very little to choose from, at least here it seems they make an effort to please all palates and levels of sophistication. There are tons of choices for the vegans and "glutards" and always creative cutting edge specials. I can get a burger if I want or an aged strip steak as good as any of the big steakhouses AND it comes with a vegetable! The wine list always has something interesting and the drinks are a highlight. Everybody needs a spot like Derek's!
