One of my favorite nature walks. The nature center proper is awesome, must see. The nature trail is a bit steep, nothing to be afraid of, and it ends at a nice beach by the creek.

Great section of Fairmont Park that spans the upper part of the city from Montgomery county all the way to the Delaware river. The creek is stocked with various species of trout. You must have a PA fishing license with a trout stamp to fish this creek. There are miles of paved trail for walking, jogging, running, biking, skating ect. as well as unpaved trails for hiking and mountain biking, or equestrian use the trail system follows the creek on either side. Also there are picnic areas with tables a few different pavilions that are free to use on a first come first serve basis unless a permit was issued in which case would reserve a certain area for however much time is stated on the permit most are for the entire day. If you are set up in a area and someone arrives with a permit you will have to move to a different area. You can obtain a permit by calling the city's parks and recreation department with the date times and area you would like to reserve. I believe the picnic areas are clearly numbered with signs that also have the number to call for a permit.. Also there are multiple access points with parking throughout the length of the park. No swimming is permitted in the creek. Please respect the fisherman if they are fishing..
