Came in here a couple times looking for guitar strings. They had everything I wanted and more bought 2 acoustic guitars that were amazing. Love this place.

My daughter's Taylor 110e had very high action and it needed to be adjusted. Pat's was highly recommended by several people. We dropped it off and Rob said his guy is really good and could take care of it with no problem. He called me in a few days and told me it was very strange but his guy could not get it any lower. He sanded down the saddle to the max it could go and adjusted the truss rod but there was no difference. (IMO it's arguably worse) The kicker is that even though they admitted they could not and did not fix it, they still charged me!! I understand everyone's time is worth something but if you tell someone you can fix it to only find out you can't.... c'mon, that should be on you. Anyway, after this fiasco, I googled how to adjust the action on a Taylor only to find out that Taylor says "Never sand down the saddle" and "Never adjust the truss rod" .. instead the neck is bolted on and should be removed and exchange 'shims' to adjust the pitch of the neck, in turn adjusting the action. I called Richboro Music who agreed with this and assured me they are well versed in Taylor repairs. Now, some may say that I should have done my research ahead of time and googled Taylor action adjust before I took it to Pat's.... Do you google how to change a water pump in your car before you take it to the mechanic? When you take it to the professionals, you trust them. If they cannot perform the service they promised.... don't charge. minus 2 stars for not knowing how to repair a Taylor when you are THE guitar repair person at the music store.. minus 1 star for still charging when you in reality made the guitar worse because now I have to buy a new saddle to get it back to factory height (as stated by Taylor) First and last time at Pat's.
