In Riva

It's on the expensive side but the food is great, the waiters/waitresses are excellent, and the menu is creative. I love stopping by to eat after completing the trail on Kelly drive. Vegetarian options: Excellent selection of tasty vegetarian options. Parking: Has its own free parking lot, plus a fairly inexpensive paid lot right across the street (paid under $5 for 1.5 hours)

In Riva is always one of my favorite places to go. With fresh herbs for cocktails and great selection in food. My only request is to bring the pepperonata back. That and the Bronzino should NEVER leave the menu, they're staples. Food : 5/5 | Service : 5/5 | Atmosphere : 4/5 More

5/5 taste5/5 service4/5 price4/5 portion sizeI recently visited In Riva and overall had a decent experience. The standout dish for me was the octopus, which was prepared to perfection and tasted absolutely delicious. However, I was disappointed with the portion size given the high price tag.Moving on to the pasta and pizza, I must say that they were fantastic. The flavors were spot on, and the texture was just right. The only downside was the weird jalapeno pepper paste that was used in both dishes. While I personally enjoyed the pepper taste, I can see why others might find it off-putting. It almost seemed like something out of Kitchen Nightmares, and I was surprised to see it on the menu of an otherwise sophisticated restaurant.One thing that really bothered me was the suggested tip amounts. The restaurant suggested tipping 20%, 25%, or 30%, and the calculated values were AFTER tax. As someone who values transparency, I found this outrageous.All in all, In Riva has a lot going for it with its delicious food and pleasant atmosphere. However, the the odd jalapeno paste might not be to everyone's liking. If you're a fan of spicy flavors and don't mind being strongly encouraged to tip a certain amount, this could be a good spot for you.
