We ordered sparking water. They brought us a fancy Italian brand in a fancy bottle. I played around with the label on the bottle so it left a mark. I finished the bottle so ordered another one. They took the first bottle away and came back and it was the same damn bottle that I marked up! But refilled with fizzy water. They reused the bottle and refilled it! They charged me $8 dollars a bottle so $16 for both and they have to refill it??? If they cut corners like this on water... imagine what they do with the food they serve you. I actually made a point to ask for the bottle back. I said I want to take it with me to use it for flower. Just to double check. They said oh, the bottle was already taken out to trash for recycling! How convenient. I am not paying you 250 bucks for a meal in which you serve me refilled crap. I wouldn't trust their wine either.

One of the best restaurants I have been to if not the best. The attention of detail is amazing and the service is top notch. The staff is exceptionally knowledgeable.

This is the most amazing, delicious, friendly restaurant in Philadelphia; maybe even in the world. I would recommend a reservation, but they try very hard to accommodate walk-ins.The staff is unpretentious (ask for Kevin when you make a reservation!), extremely knowledgeable (they've tried all the food!), and make the whole experience all-around enjoyable. Chef Painter comes up with incredible concoctions and reliable, yet never boring, classics are available. Beautifully decorated, and the music is at a low volume to encourage conversation. Frank (the sommelier) knows the best wine pairing to go with your meal, so make sure you let him know what you ordered (plus, he never pushes towards the expensive wines). Head in for drinks and a few small plates, or stay for the full four-course meal; you will find yourself coming back again and again! I know I have!
