Having recently moved to Philadelphia, I chose Dr. Yankelevich as my primary care physician due to his location in reference to my apartment. What a mistake.
The first time I went to see Dr. Yankelevich I waited 40+ minutes. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and figured maybe it was just a bad day at the office.
Today (8/28/12) was my second appointment. My appointment was scheduled for 10:30 AM and due to the wait the last time I arrived at 10:15 AM. There was one other patient waiting and they seemed to be getting rather irate about their wait. The receptionist (Nikeeta) was dealing with the other patient and told me to take a seat and she would be with me shortly. It was clear Dr. Yankelevich wasn't in yet. She finished with the other patient and went into a side office without saying a word to me. 10:30 AM came and went with no sign of the Doctor or the receptionist. Finally at 10:40 AM Dr. Yankelevich arrived at the office and scurried into the back out of sight. Then at about 10:55 AM, the Doctor and the receptionist appeared again. I walked up to the window and told the receptionist I had to leave and I would be changing my primary care physician. She simply replied "okay". The other patient said they had been waiting since 10:00 AM, a full hour.
Dr. Yankelevich handles a lot of disability patients and it is quite clear that he is milking the government for money with no regard for the well being or time of his patients. I would not recommend getting sucked into his vortex and endless waiting. I wish I never had.
