Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center – Jefferson Health

Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center is more than a 5 star treatment center. My husband was diagnosed w/laryngeal/epiglottis cancer. The Dr's and nurses at this facility are the most caring and compassionate front line workers I've encountered. Their jobs must be emotionally stressful, yet the smiles on their faces and the encouragement they give a patient is incredible! From the valet attendents all the way to the people you encounter up and through to the surgery rooms are pleasant, helpful and caring! I'd also like to mention the accommodations of the waiting area. Not only does it have a beautiful Atrium to distract and try to calm your mind while waiting during surgery, there is a large screen surgical board for you to keep track of the patient's progress. There are also FREE connections for charging your devices, i.e. cellphone, ipad, laptop. That also includes the Patient Navigators. Special mention of Jackie Mitchell, who worked tirelessly to make sure ALL my husband's records reached TJUH/ Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center for the Dr's and Surgeon's review. I have nothing but praises for everyone on behalf of their selfless and graceful care given in a patient's time of fear and chaos.
