        Scheduling is a nightmare. For my first procedure I wasn’t even on the schedule so waited 3 hours to be seen. For the next one I waited 2 weeks to even hear from scheduling. It’s been 3 weeks since I got the go ahead for the third procedure and still nothing from scheduling despite emails and phone calls. Dr Ashburn doesn’t seem to care about these delays and poor administration nor does Penn Medicine. Would recommend going elsewhere and regret going to this practice.

        He did an awesome job in replacing the hardware in my ankle and fibula. In my book he is top notch!

        I’ve had a completely different experience with Dr. Ashburn than the other reviewers. Instead of characterizing Dr. Ashburn as abrupt and rude, I would say he is succinct and to the point. At my first appointment, I asked him many questions and he answered all of them. He did not seem annoyed or dismayed by my questions, nor having to take time to respond to my questions. I don’t need (or want) my doctor to be my best friend. I want a doctor that is an expert in his/her field and who is successful in treating the problems of his/her patients. I found that person in Dr. Ashburn. That being said, in my experience Dr. Ashburn has been caring and interested in my well-being.

        I have received medical service from Dr. Ashburn under my workers compensation claim regarding my back pain. After three consultation appointments I decided to go ahead with Dr. Ashburn’s recommendation of receiving an injection in my back. After receiving the treatment I had requested a note from Dr. Ashburn to provide to my employer. Dr. Ashburn states that his office does NOT provide workers compensation notes. For all consultation and treatment expenses Dr. Ashburn’s office had been billing to my workers compensation company. After this experience I would strongly recommend against receiving medical services from Dr Ashburn or his office with regards to workers compensation claims.
