Rockwell does a good job overall. Ultimately, we're very happy with our home but the process wasn't always easy. They have a high employee turnover rate and don't particularly communicate as well as we would've liked. Being first time homeowners, there could've been much more done to help hold our hand a bit during the process. There are A LOT of decisions to make and each one will stretch your wallet thin.
This year long project is not for the faint of heart. You will spend countless hours of time and thousands of dollars. Buying a new home already built will save you a TON of stress and pressure strung out over a long period of time. Granted, it's nice to have a custom home exactly how you want but with Covid and so much economic uncertainty, who knows where you'll be in life between the time you make the decision to build and settlement. It is what it is when buying and building a luxury home. If the home has a base price of $400k, get ready to spend $200k more than that just to get what you want.
It would've been nice to have computer renderings of what certain options and rooms look like as well. Everything came out great but there's a bit too much imagination needed and in 2020, the technology for these types of graphics are available, especially for a luxury builder. We still have a few items they need to come back to complete. I will update this review upon completion of that. One last note - their project manager Jay is the best. 5 stars for him.
Update as of 1/27/22 - unable to contact anyone to perform 1 year warranty check list. Apparently, Jay is no longer with the company. Review reduced to 3 stars. Will update upon completion of punch list items.
Update as of 5/9/22 - no response to warranty issues. Review reduced to 2 stars. Seeking legal action.
Update as of 6/30/22 - most warranty items complete. Some items will have to be completed on our own. Final review - 3 stars. Guts of the home are great. The details, not so much. Too difficult getting punch list items completed in a timely manner.
