When I decided to get my hair done 1st week of March 2022, I didn't realize the challenge that I was presenting to the girls with at Empire. To save money during the pandemic, I colored my hair at home. I purchased it from Sallys, so it had to be safe, so I thought. I must have picked the wrong brand. The color was fine at first, but as it faded, my hair just looked terrible. I knew putting another color on top of this mess was only going to make matters worse. This color needed to be removed from my hair, I needed to start over. The only way that I knew to get back to my starting point would be to have a bleach bath done, which I did not feel comfortable doing myself, no matter how simple they claimed it would be on youtube. I was extremely impressed with the precautions that Empire took, not only to ensure that I would not have any allergic reactions to their dyes, but I will be forever grateful that they took measures to ensure that my hair was strong enough to withstand the process of a bleach bath. Sabrina questioned me about previous processes done to my hair before clipping a sample for testing. My heart sank as she approached, dangling from her fingers, all melted and gummy, was what I thought of as healthy hair. She explained that they couldn't do the bleach bath on my hair because it wouldn't be able to handle it, and that my hair was only in the solution for a fraction of the time before melting. I was devastated, I thought to myself I ruined my hair. Thank God I did not do the bath at home.I thought for sure I was going to be sent home, but I wasn't. I'm glad she had such a great instructor who was determined to see that I didn't leave without accomplishing what I originally set out to do,safely, slowly and successfully. Sabrina prepared the first batch of a safer mixture, while Miss Larissa assisted as needed and checked in on periodically to ensure any questions were answered. I am happy to report at the end of a very long day, my hair was corrected, colored and I also received a great cut. I was thrilled with the way my hair now laid and it was safely on my head. Tiana gave me a facial, waxed my eyebrows and even applied my make up. It was very relaxing. I am pleased with the services that I received and the prices I was charged. Im impressed by the students knowledge, the professionalism of the instructors, and the schools cleanliness. Everyone I came into contact with was extremely friendly and helpful. They provide a wide range of services at a fraction of the cost in your typical salon. I'm glad I made the decision to go to Empire. I am looking forward to returning, and I would recommend their services. Thank you for a great visit Sabrina, Tiana and Miss Larissa.
