I referred a client to Harold and sat in with the client the first day to help him feel more comfortable transitioning to a new therapist. Harold is easy to talk to and passionate about helping. He has an extensive background working with people with addiction but also works with the general population. I brought up harold's low internet rating to him, which he explained was due to a very "no nonsense" receptionist that he used to work with. Clinically, I think Harold is a very good therapist, and so I wanted to leave a positive review to offset ratings that are based on a receptionist that no longer works with Harold.

Very professional and easy to talk to. It is very hard to find a good therapist but I'm very happy with Dr. Dalton.

His receptionist "Ruth" I think it was...She was very rude, and mean when I tried to call out and reschedule. Mind you, I've never been to the office but that day I had a very bad cold so I called out not knowing about a strict 24 hour cancellation policy. When she answered the phone she said, "So you mean to tell me your going to call out 20 minutes before your session?" And of course I said I apologized about the inconvenience, and not knowing about the cancellation policy. Obviously,I was sick! So she starts to go in on this rant about how "they usually charge 65 bucks for people who call out with such short notice but lucky for me for people who miss their first visit they're just not welcome at all"...Now understandably I could see why she was upset, BUT when your in a field where people are depressed, suicidal, or even addicted to substances YOU WOULD THINK you would be a little more respectful towards costumers. I'm not asking her to kiss my behind but she was so disrespectful. Especially when I gave her nothing but respect as well. After all, there was no need for me to stoop to her level. I'll pray for her. I felt like she was rude and shouldn't be working in a place where people are going through rough times. I WOULD NEVER advise anyone to go there by just the tone of her voice. If you can talk like that to someone over the phone, imagine if I had been there in person! She even had the nerve to say "GOOD LUCK" before she hung up the phone!! She was a complete @sshole. Excuse my language but she wasn't kind at all. I usually don't write reviews but being that people are looking for genuine therapeutic practices expecting kind people, I doubt this is it!

My first appointment wasn't with Dr. Dalton, I was pushed off to Kate because he was on vacation. More I thought about it, more I wanted to wait and meet with him (I respond better to male therapists) so I called the day before my appointment to cancel or reschedule. Was told that since I didn't give them 24 hr notice (only18 hrs) that I couldn't have another appointment and was told "Good Luck" with sarcasm as the receptionist hung up on me. Very christian of them. I had high hopes when I read about Mr Dalton's practice and was very disappointed. Also, I left two messages for a call back to arrange the first appointment and got none. This place is just about the money, not about helping people and the receptionist needs a reality check and some therapy herself.
