Forage American Brasserie September 20, 2014 We eat out often at restaurants of varied degrees of quality- sometimes a burger joint, sometime a Duling Kurtz-like place, so naturally we have a list of favorite things about restaurants. Last evening we had a 100% pleasant dining experience, probably the best in ages at Forage American Brasserie in the Main Street shopping area in Exton. PA. Greeted by a smiling and welcoming receptionist, we were seated at our table. The décor of the establishment is tasteful, the tables aren’t crowded together, and soft music played, but was totally unobtrusive. The air conditioning wasn’t on “stunâ€, in fact it was comfortable. The menu, a perfect size- not page after page of endless offerings, revealed unusual and wonderfully creative combinations of entrees, The waiter was pleasant, accommodating, easy to chat with and helpful. It’s a BYOB establishment, so after opening our wine, we ordered and sat chatting- yes chatting- unlike most of the West Chester restaurants that have decent food, the noise level at Forage is home like- you can actually have conversations across the tables without shouting---and as I looked around no one was on a tech device-amazing! We ordered eight different dishes and desserts among us, and each was rated superior. The waiter was attentive, but never rushed us, and all in all it was the perfect dining experience. Cheers for Forage! We wish you every success. Phyllis Reinhard

This small bistro is tucked away at the Main Street at Exton. The food is locally sourced and fresh as can be, and the portions are reasonable without being ginormous. We've been several times for date night and it never disappoints! While they take reservations, this gem is still hidden, so you may be able to walk in and get a table! Currently a BYOB. There's a wine and spirits store in the same shopping complex if you don't have a bottle to bring from home.
