Keys In Motion Piano Studio

I've been taking lessons with Kathy for over two years, coming in with no piano experience as an adult student. Kathy has been a wonderful teacher. Our lessons are well-balanced with both theory and practicing. Her love of music and the piano is so clear. I highly recommend taking lessons with Kathy!

It was always my desire to learn the piano but did not have the right teachers, until now. Kathy is fantastic, she is a highly educated musician and teacher, a real professional. She motivates me to want to be an accomplished player. Its been a pleasure getting to know Kathy and Im fortunate to be her student.

My daughter has been a student of Keys in Motion for 8 months and it has been a very positive experience. Kathy is kind, patient and blends theory and practice in a way that is approachable for us. I have been taking lessons from Mrs. Dykstra since late elementary school. Now as I head off to college in the fall, it is evident how enjoyable my time with Mrs. Dykstra has been. As a teacher she consistently introduced me to new and unique music. She ensured that her students were engaged and had plenty of opportunities to play with each other, and for others via group lessons, recitals, and community outreaches. Thanks to Mrs. Dykstra, I'll be a life long piano enthusiast.

I am an early intermediate adult piano student and have been taking lessons from Kathy Dykstra for two years. She accepts students from elementary school age through adults. During the year she holds several student recitals and encourages her students to perform at local community events and also enter competitions, if qualified. Kathy combines theory with playing, so students acquire a solid musical background. She works on technique and allows students to choose musical pieces which appeal to them. I have learned and expanded my piano skills greatly and can recommend Kathy highly as a piano teacher.
