In one of the heavy rains we had in January we identified a roof leak in our family room. Ultimately it appeared this leak had been going on for a while but we didn't know it. I had no choice but to start to look for a contractor who specialized in roof repairs...not something I was looking forward too! As many know, it's really hard to find a contractor who shows up as agreed and does what they say they'll do. Or in this case, not immediately just tell me I need a whole new roof! I came across East Coast Roofing and noted they specifically addressed roof leaks. Their reviews online were very good and they were local to us in Collegeville. I gave them a call and spoke with Alec (an owner). He was responsive on the phone and we set an appointment for him to come out and see what he could do for us. When he showed (on time as scheduled), we reviewed the issue (inside and out) and he even had a drone that he flew over the house to inspect the roof. He suspected it was some bad shingles and we set a day and time for the other owner Zoe and a crew to come and investigate further. He gave me a quote to do the work that was very competitive. They showed as scheduled and proceeded to get on the roof and with great restraint only pulled back shingles where moisture was evident. They uncovered that the sheathing under the shingles in a particular valley on the roof was very wet and actually rotting. They replaced the rotten section and sealed up several areas where there were gaps in the adjoining flashing and stucco...suspecting that was the issue. Since I had already removed bad drywall inside the house where the leak was evident, they agreed to come back the next day after the repairs were set to do a water test. This way we could actually see what was going on behind the walls inside. Again, they showed up on time and proceed to take a hose and flood where they did the repairs. But the leak remained? They admitted they were a little stumped, they thought they had it figured out but without hesitation agreed to return and continue to look for the leak. We scheduled the next appointment and once again, they showed up as scheduled and based on the water tests done previously, they sealed up additional flashings and areas that could have been letting water penetrate the roof. They admitted the leak was not acting as most leaks they encounter and really worked hard to figure out where the water may be coming from. As before, they agreed to come back and re-test with another water test. This time, after flooding the repairs and adjacent sections of the roof and a 12 hour long heavy rain event, finally...NO LEAK! They said per their guarantee, for a year if the leak should reappear, they will come back and continue to look for and fix the problem with no additional charge. They even offered to come back after the guarantee period to inspect the repairs they did to ensure they are performing as they intended for no charge. And again, at no time did they ever tell me I needed a new roof!! I can't say enough about how good it was to deal with East Coast Roofing Systems. Professional, on time, reasonable cost and a guarantee! Overall just a really good experience!

My particular job was more maintenance related due to some small leaks that occurred during a very strong storm in January. I wanted to have roofers who could look at my roof and determine what needed to be done to avoid major problems in the future and that is exactly what ECRS did. The team at ECRS was very responsive to my concerns and acted on them. Fortunately my roof did not require any major work, only minor repairs (fixing loose shingles, caulking around flashing and new vent pipe collars). The work was performed professionally and on time. I would use ECRS again and would recommend them for any roofing concerns or issues.
