I in a word it was a blast. Riding through the back country roads through Amish country made my first time on a scooter stress free. The stops were well planned with ample opportunity to munch local treats and shop. Our guide did not hurry us and had a great sense of humor. The scooters were well maintained, easy to drive, and FUN!

SPEECHLESS! I have always wanted to go to Amish Country and finally had the opportunity to go. My friend is actually the one who found Strasburg Scooters, but I am soooo glad she did! I chose to do the tour in Bird in Hand with Dave (for no reason in particular at the time) but feel very thankful thats the way it worked out! It ended up just being me on the tour, and Dave could have easily cancelled instead of wasting a tour on just me, but he didnt and I had the time of my life. SUCH KINDNESS! He went above and beyond to make sure I had a memorable experienceand that I did! He was also beyond patient with me as I could not for the life of me figure out how to put the kickstand down (although I did finally conquer it at the *end* of the tour). We got a good laugh numerous times. There are no words to express the breathtaking views. Pictures truly dont do it justice! Aside from the beautiful scenery, there are BUTTERFLIES FLYING AROUND YOU AS YOU DRIVE and you can see hundreds of caterpillars inching across the road. Dave would pull over on the side of the road to share facts with me, and he was very knowledgeable about the Amish community. Both the time and the money are 100% worth it, and they allow you to see Amish Country like youve never seen it beforeeven if this isnt your first time! You get to ride the country backroads at a leisurely pace and take in everything as you go. You go from riding with fields stretching for miles and miles on each side of you to riding between cornstalks that tower high above your head! Theres another scooter tour in Strasburg. If I would have had the time (I was just here for the day) I would have done that one, too! Even if you dont have much experience with scooters (I had only ridden one once before), it is totally doable and EXTREMELY WORTH IT! You get the hang of it very quickly and Dave also walks you through everything beforehand. You will absolutely NOT regret this tour! Thanks, Dave!

These scooter rides are highly recommended for people visiting Lancaster, especially those fairly new to the area. They are a fun way of cruising the rural back roads that one normally would not drive on if not living locally. The only caveat to these little excursions is that they seem to be centered around the Amish. This may be great for many who are not familiar withese hard working religious people. However, Amish can be found throughout the continental US, especially in Northwest Pa, where they are not well accepted and considered annoying, though the Amish were there well before those suburbanites moved in to the developed former farmlands. There is more to Lancaster County than the Amish, however this particular tour focused on visiting local small family owned Amish retail establishments with what appeared to be the intent to get people to make purchases from them. While my wife saw this as Amish trying to capitalize on tourists, I was very pleased to discover these places that I never knew existed despite the many trips to Lancaster over the years. We were the last tour of the day and in fact were the only ones, so we got a personalized tour. We were informed that speeds would be low at about 30mph, but thankfully we reached speeds close to 50 at times, making it a little thrilling. Exploring the back roads was a lot of fun, and what was also pleasant was the smiling faces of the Amish young people who wave to you emphatically as you pas them. A group of what looked like Mennonite kids yelled for us to hit the horn. The tour takes a couple of hors that go by pretty quick. Our tour guide, I believe her name was Jessica, was fantastic and very pleasant despite being disappointed that we not only showed up late, but did not notice she tried to contact us about starting the tour early to end early, which we would have done. I recommend this tour, but when you go, take a lot of cash as some of the places you visit don't take cash and you WILL want to purchase something. It is also customary to tip the tour guide as well. One little Amish market has an ATM but you will be charged a fee at the machine and probably by your bank as well. After your scooter ride, if not full from your sweets and ice cream you bought, go across the street to the Bird in Hand restaurant and stuff yourself sick.
