honestly...this place was better when the old owners had it. i stopped going a while back when they changed management because these new owners are just ridiculous. They dont open on sundays, and that is a huge family day. we would always go, every sunday after church. they prices were perfect and the portions were amazing. now the prices rose and the portions decreased and so did the quality of the food.

Hubby and I went for a date night.. Food was some of the worst Mexican we have ever had, and the service was dead slow. Portion size was okay, if we could have stomached eating it. Ended up leaving most of it on the plate.

I came here with a friend after she got me hyped for it. I'm a mexican, and I grew up with my mother's cooking, which isn't Mexico's mexican restaurant quality, but it's alright. But at La Perla, the chicken was dry and the tortillas were soggy. Durp. I think all of the high schoolers love it only for its location downtown. The other stuff might be a bit better, but I would rather go down to a crammed small mexican restaurant made by people who actually make their food.
