This is the first time I am writing a review of a business whose services I don't (rather, can't) use. After the winery tours in Willammete Valley I had collected 15 bottles that I needed to take back to Texas. It was a Saturday and I called some of the wine shipping companies near Newberg, OR but they were closed or closing early. My flight was the next day and I was beginning to get a little worried. Then I called Portland Wine Storage and asked them for suggestions. Even though I was not a customer of their wine storage (and as a result they could handle the shipping), the staff was was very helpful in giving me options on how I could ship the wine myself. They took multiple calls from me and patiently answered all my questions. It was clear that they cared for wines, even of those who are not their storage customers. In the end I opted to buy a 12 bottle wine box from them for $5 and take that box with me as checked luggage in my flight the next day. I reached their store with my wines. The staff was very friendly and enthusiastically helped box and tape my wines even though the business I was giving them was paltry. The wines reached home with me safely and I saved quite a bit by not having to ship through ground options. If they treat a person who is not a customer of their wine storage service so well, imagine how well their customers are treated. Their care and passion for wine is very evident. I have the highest praise for them. Since I don't live nearby, I cannot use their storage service; but if I did, I would.
