**PLEASE READ** This company threatens and intimidates!!!! Contacted this company for a bid on a tree removal. Specifically requested that the tenets are to not be disturbed and to look from the public sidewalk over the fence. They blatantly disregarded my request and talked with all of the tenets before even contacting me. They said the tree was a hazard and nobody should be in the house, then told us the same thing but never even gave us the bid! I immediately got 3 other company’s over there and all 3 others said it’s not an immediate hazard. They tried using scare tactics, unprofessional and can’t follow simple request in respecting privacy. I hope you hire another company as we did, this tree company can be a serious hazard if contacted! ***update*** this guys has been harassing my wife and threatening with lawsuits for this review and threaten to contact the city because of the tree. What a nut job, why do you think we are contacting tree services dude? WOW he is psychotic. My wife had to block his number because he has called and texted many times with threats and intimidation tactics. She is scared of this companies owner and feels he is unstable. He also has gone back to the house and directly contacted the tenets AGAIN!!!! He has even threatened to contact our neighbors. This is totally crazy. He has scared my wife and tenets for his own ego and personal reason. PLEASE DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!

Used them in August 2017 and they did a great job. Called them back January 2019 and got a totally different experience. They bid the job saying they had a 5 man crew but showed up with only 3 guys. The boss guy said his “business plan “ was to only cut down dead trees because once they were cut down, there was no more possible work for him. We had sick and dying trees, and while he said they would cut them, when it came time to do the job, he either didn’t cut them, or he argued with us saying that he’d rather wait until spring to see if they were really dead. I suggest you look for someone else, this crew is trouble. I’ll NEVER use them again.

To be fair & honest, unless ownership of this outfit has changed in recent years, if you're reading this review & the name "Jamal" is attached to your experience as you try to make your decision on hiring them, this is a must read.... For anyone seeking an honest review of this fly by night outfit, you won't find a better one than this one. Promise. I'm not a client/customer of this untrained unprofessional & shady company, I was employed by them as they first got off the ground a decade ago & was tasked by the financial owner of it to build the business up for he & his grandson, which I did in amazing & quick fashion. I took my 2 decades of professional experience & helped the senior citizen technical owner of the equipment & company. And I put my heart & soul into everything from designing their logo, to ensuring quality & safe work. Until the grandson, a young punk named Jamal & absolute dirtbag of a person picked up a meth habit and broke the old mans heart, and nearly ran everything into the ground. In short time we went from producing quality tree care services, to having to get police involved as the punk started stealing work, equipment etc from the company. He would show up on jobsites blown out of his mind, create extremely unsafe work conditions, be EXTREMELY manipulative & abusive to his very old grandfather & for months it was day in day out nightmares. Employees were subject to verbal abuse, missed days work, and several good workers lost their jobs because of this grandkid. I long since stepped away from the outfit since my reputation was on the line and I didn't want to be attached to this sinking ship, but having seen their truck still rolling around Portland a few years back, with my logo on it, it's clear the dirtbag grandson was able to lie cheat & steal and STRONG ARM his grandfathers investment away from him somehow & continues to this day ripping off the portland area with shoddy work. The character running it, is literally a criminal. I don't remember what he had been locked up for prior to my joining them but he had a record. The current owner of this company (jamal) never put a tiny bit of effort into educating himself on good industry practice or education, stood in the way of safe work, and at least for a while was a maniac convicted convict with a meth habit. Watching what this lunatic put Jim & Rose through, his elderly grandparents, and knowing just how big a dirtbag he really is masked by fake charm & snake oil salesmen technique, I wouldn't trust this guy/company to remove the garbage from my property, let alone task them with anything dangerous such as tree care. The short story is the meth head grandson was a low wage employee of a tree service whose owner had died. He convinced his gullible grandfather to pony up the $$ to buy out the company & equipment he had been a grunt for. So from day 1 "arbortech nw", was organized & run by someone brand new to the industry, who hadn't been trusted & knew nothing about the actual work. Which is why I entered the story since the grandfather knew the kid was going to squander the investment away. BUYER BEWARE.
