I stopped in during the "snowstorm" last night to watch cars parked on Jefferson trying to make it home and have a cup of coffee. While I do not want to go into details about what happened, I can say that I was super impressed with the way the staff handled themselves in what could have been a bad scene. Compassion and class are the words I would use to describe how it was handled. I will definitely make a point to go back here and support their business. Even while dealing with the bad situation, the way they made many other people that were in a bad situation feel at home and comforted was so nice to see! I hope they see this and realize what an impact they made on a few of us snow bound travelers. Thanks West Cafe

Had lunch here at suggestion of business colleague. I've driven by here hundreds times and never noticed it. But it is definitely worth stopping at! Had best Mushroom Bisque ever and excellent spicy chicken sandwich w/ salad. Others with me enjoyed their dishes too, salads and a meatball sandwich. The two owners were working the floor and took personal interest in how things were going. I will definitely be back to The West Cafe.

My friend & I came downtown to try to new Asian Restaurant on 12th & Jefferson. Their web site had not been updated and they were CLOSED. We had a great parking spot so decided to walk till we found the 1st restaurant. There it was right by my car: WEST CAFE. OMG. We hit the Bingo on this. Wonderful at every level. The staff, the owners, the warmth of their service, the food, the lemon dessert...we are going to make it 'our place to go' from now on! You won't be disappointed. GO THERE

Just finished dinner of a glass of Chilean Malbec blend, just excellent, and the vegetable lasagna, covered with a very tasty and somewhat tangy sauce (lemongrass and thyme). It was served with a simple greens salad with oil and vinegar. Preceded by bread and cumin-flavored papadum (Indian) flatbread with butter. Not at all busy on a Thursday night in November, quiet music playing, but definitely quiet enough for conversation. Recommended.
