Barbara is a one of a kind teacher. I highly recommend her. Her years of experience, commitment and obsession with the craft are undeniably evident when with her. She overflows with gems of wisdom that get to the heart of the complex and bizarre creature that theater is. Her strong intuitive feedback is such a gift to receive. She gives her all and more to her students. She is deeply present, aware, intelligent, and sensitive. She balances support and encouragement with constructive feedback creating an ideal environment for true growth. She will push you to grow and you have to be ready to do the work. All the better because that's what we all need.

I've studied with Barbara for over a year now. She knows how to create a supportive environment that encourages a fuller exploration of own's own inner world, and thus the inner worlds of the characters we portray. She has a knack for providing the level of feedback that matches her students' experience level and skill. And she makes it fun and challenging at the same time. Highly recommended!
