image My initial review was negative due to major issues with billing, I updated it after iit was resolved and they followed up to make sure things did get resolved correctly. I still would be cautious trying to bill insurance with them.
I went here looking to have a vocal injury looked at and possibly for vocal feminization surgery. And because they took my insurance.
The exam was great, I got good info that the injury has healed and got deeper insights about my singing voice and what things might be limiting me. So I found the exam quote helpful!
I opted not to do vocal feminization surgery because to my ear all the good results were for people under 30, and most patients experience loss of vocal power, so it wasn't for me. But everyone's priorities and situations are different.
Billing was a giant headache with miscommunications and changing stories that took months to resolve. Eventually after their billing staff changed stories a few times my insurance co stepped in and got it sorted out. They also have changed their billing staff and made efforts to address the past issues which is a good sign to see.

image Dr thomas is a death sentence waiting to happen. He drilled holes in my trachea. Many people have died from a nicked trachea that occurred from routine throat surgery. He didn't just nick my trachea he drilled holes in it, that's a lot worse. I've had a sore throat that is steadily getting worse . It is so bad now that I'm sure I'm going to die from it. I have complained to him, but he is in total denial. He refuses to believe the surgery has anything to do with my sore throat. I'm warning you don't let him drill holes in your trachea. If you do you will regret it. I have reported the surgery and doctor thomas to the oregon medical board, but because it's been over two years from the surgery they won't investigate the surgery.

image I had a feminization laryngoplasty by Dr. Thomas. He is very kind man and an expert surgeon. The quality of life he has given me with my new throat and hopefully new voice is priceless.

image Good doc, but warning, also an eccentric and busy guy. Basically a god of laryngology who also seems to be quite the academic. Some local ENTs in my area (east coast) actually reference his work.
Also the only doctor I know of in the USA/Western Hemisphere that does Femlar (Feminization Laryngoplasty) as of Q3 2023, which is a newer form of Voice Feminization Surgery that has 17 year+ follow ups backing up its use. Come in healthy and follow his instructions to a tee (or be even more strict than he recommends) and you should be fine, whether its for trans-related voice surgery, nodules, hoarseness, or something else.
Estelle and Jacquelyn, who work the front desk, are fantastic btw . The surgical center he uses (Wilshire) is also fantastic, great staff and I never had an easier time going under than there.
