Jake is an incredible teacher who works beautifully with kids AND middle aged moms, like our group, most of which have never played an instrument before. His passion for music and academic knowledge on the subject make for a wonderful experience!

We met Jake a few years ago and feel like we hit the jackpot for music instruction. Jake is clever and gentle and guides students to feel successful at every lesson. Jakes personal appreciation for how important music is for a healthy community clearly informs his work. When I hear my son play I am so impressed at what Jake has been able to tease out of him! WE LOVE JAKE!

Jake is an amazing music teacher! I can't recommend him enough; he's flexible with scheduling AND he comes to our house for lessons. We do back to back lessons for both my kids - one on piano, the other on guitar. One of my concerns was that I didn't want my kids to just be able to play music, I wanted them to understand it and this is the way Jake teaches: he blends fun, theory, and technique into all the lessons. Both my children can be shy but Jake has created a really comfortable environment for them and they both look forward to lessons with him! Do yourself a favor and get in touch with him. And oh yeah, his rates are affordable!

Jake is an awesome music instructor. I was only able to do a couple lessons but I will be back when my schedule allows (and bringing my teenage son who was turned off from music lessons by some uninspired instructors). I learn so much in the 2 lessons I did with Jake, I already have lots to work on. Jake shows a range of music practicals/theory/note reading all in one effortless lesson and then builds on that on the next - all this while you the student are strumming and working on your form the whole time. I am a college instructor and I know how difficult it can be to make things easy enough for the novice to comprehend and get hooked. Jake is an instructor that does that! ...a rare find ... fun, very professional and accommodating.

Jake is so fun and approachable for my shy nine year old, evidenced by her huge jump in confidence and skill on her electric guitar since we started with him. Wearing a huge grin and his own passion for music on his sleeve, Jake clearly has the knowledge to teach the instrument and music itself. However, most importantly he has helped my introvert daughter to find her own voice in loud balsy music with no apologies. Thanks Jake!
