All My Sons Moving & Storage

It was the office staff for me.. I called to make a reservation on a Tuesday with a Customer Service Rep (Dylan) pretty nice, after he gave the quote I took a moment to think it over and called back the next day ( Wednesday) . I spoke with someone named Alex at the PDX location and asked to book my move that I had previously been quoted by Dylan the day before. Alex was extremely rude and refuse to honored the quote that was provided by Dylan the day before. Alex told me that I was wrong that this company had never moved me and that it was no way that the time I told him my previous moved took.. Alex continued to tell me that Dylan at the call center did know what he was talking about and could have been able to see any of the information he had confirmed with me the day before. I was confused and asked was there anyway for me to speak with Dylan directly.. Alex said "what for" he was refusing to honor the quote that I been provided.. asked to speak to the owner Nathan he again said " what for" he told me he was the assistant manager and that I did not need to speak with anyone else. I called the call center back and explained the situation , I was called back by Rusty from the call center who asked what had happened and they the PDX branch refused to honor my quote, I assured him that yes they had mullite times during my call. Rusty (TX) booked my move per the quote I was given, I was good with his help and was ready to move on. A few moments later I received a call from Alex at the PDX office who was calling to tell me that he would not book my move with the quote that was provided to me I asked what was going on with him was he okay, this seemed weird that he calling me to tell he wont honor the quote provided. He said nothing was wrong him and that if I asked him that again he was going to refund my deposit that I had already paid.. I told Alex " Please do" I would call another moving company. You have been warned.

I didn't end up using them for moving due to a couple of issues. First, they told me to do a Monday move instead of a Friday move since Friday counts as a weekend and weekends need a 5 hr minium. I booked them for the suggested Monday and paid the deposit since I needed help moving. Here's the kicker: they later called me to tell me that being on the 3rd floor required a total of 3 movers. So on top of already shuffling around my move date, now I was going to be paying more than initially disclosed. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of one since they were nice folks and I got my deposit back.

The worst move I've ever experienced was All My Sons Moving & Storage in Portland, OR. First, they "forgot" about my reservation and I had to beg the new tenant of my apartment to let me pay for two more days because the movers weren't coming. I did the gracious thing, but they took advantage. Forget moving codes, they literally just threw my unprotected belonging into a truck going half way across the country. The local "All my Sons" were horrified when they unpacked it. So much damage AND I had to pay double for the truck because the movers couldn't stack anything and took up the entire thing instead of half. A $5k move that should have been paid with Domino's and Bud Light.

I do not recommend using this company. The movers were actually great but unfortunately my new $300 coffee table ended up cracked in three different places. I submitted a claim and they valued my table at $24. Yes, $24. They claimed I should have purchased third-party insurance for the move. Wouldn't you think that if a customer's property is damaged by your employees, you would replace it? Novel idea.

When I called to schedule a move, a month in advance, they did not disclose that weekend moves are a minimum of 5 hours. :( Super bummed and now stressed to find movers within a few days!
