Shiny Sparkles Montessori

Overall great experience. Teachers are very caring. The owner, Deepika, is nice to talk with. My 3 yr daughter quickly made friends and liked going there. She is already able to write her own name, holding the pen correctly and spelling it right. They made also did 2-3 arts & crafts items every week. We were able to give our own home-cooked food which is good since we can maintain high food quality for our kids and their tastes develop similar to what we cook at home. Good experience - recommend it.

My son went for 5 year he really enjoyed and learned a lot. The teacher are great they care for kids and give individual attention.

One of the worst employers I've ever worked for. I felt as though they over charge the parents and don't pay their workers enough. I was also NOT a fan of "the teachers can't talk to the parents, just the owners" that just never set right with me. I ran into a friend recently who quit bringing her child here because of the cost. I also found it difficult to get a day off.

When I was searching for a daycare for my first child, I immediately started by searching all of the top Portland Daycares. In fact, when my husband suggested that we go look at this daycare option I quickly turned him down. But after touring several of the “top” daycares in Portland, and not absolutely loving any of them, I was willing to give anything a try. When I first met Dee, and toured Shiny Sparkles, I knew I wanted our daughter to go there. They were kind, warm, welcoming, and the kids seemed to genuinely succeed there (in all aspects). If you want to avoid a lengthy review you can stop here. THEY ARE AMAZING! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SCHEDULE A TOUR. If you want to read a lengthy review about how we came to love Shiny Sparkles, feel free to continue. They only gave tours after 5pm (which at first I did not like, but can now I appreciate that they don’t take time or attention away from the children’s routines), and on our way in to meet Dee we were stopped by two individuals. The first was a father on his way out with his son. He asked if we were considering Shiny Sparkles. We said yes, and he told us he had looked around at several daycares and could not be happier with his decision to take his son there. He told us he highly recommended it. We thanked him and entered the daycare. Less than a minute later, another parent (this was a mom with her daughter) stopped to tell us that if we were touring, she would highly recommend it. Her daughter was graduating, and was testing into 1st grade. After we met Dee we knew it was a great fit. Our daughter has been at Shiny Sparkles for 3 years now and loves it. In fact, one of her teachers has been with her since Day 1, and will always hold a special place in her heart. I am a surgeon, and my husband is in sports management, so we both work full time. We could not have been happier with our decision. Oh, and they also offer dance and gymnastics (both of which my daughter loved). I am so grateful for this wonderful establishment! Unfortunately we have to move for work, so I felt the least I could do is try to spread the word on how wonderful Dee and everyone at Shiny Sparkles is. So please, do yourself a favor and schedule a tour.

Very good school ! Excellent teachers who give attention to the individual needs of the kids. We got our child enrolled before he moved to Kindergarten and it really helped him getting accustomed to classroom environment. Children are engaged with lot of activities including reading and writing and they also offer outdoor activity options like soccer. We had a great experience.
