Trebol is an absolute favorite! During one of our visits the chef came out to talk to us about the menu and offer us a new dessert that turned out to be odd sounding but we ordered TWO extra to take home - a bacon ice cream atop of a hot brownie! The food has always been terrific and the menu adding new things often. I can't wait to go back!

A great, inspired menu which balances authenticity with a little flash of something new. The seasonal offerings are outstanding. Drinks were wonderful with a long margarita list which will make your decision a difficult one. If you're taking a date... stay outta the bar because the Mexican wrestling movies are something you don't want to watch... but just can't help getting sucked into. Give it a try.

My Wife and I decided to eat here for our anniversary dinner. I have to say the presentation was amazing and the food was superb. I have to say the service was just ok..Our Waitress/Owner did not seem as friendly as some of the other servers we have had but what made up for it was the food. She was offering a special taco dish with mango salsa and we loved it!! The presentation of the dish was so beautiful we took a picture of it. If the service would have been as good as the food it would have been 5 starts. I would also like to see more of a appealing selection as there were only a few that stood out.

I tried Trebol after driving by and thinking it looked cool and then purchasing the Google offer. Sadly, the offer wasn't applicable to alcohol (which we found out AFTER our meal) because the drinks were the best part! Their margarita menu is unique and creative. I had the tamarindo margarita which was delicious! Tamarindo is a flavor I love but for those who haven't had it, it is pretty sour and can sometimes overpower a margarita but they serve it with a sugared rim which makes this drink perfection. Also loved the Rosada margarita made with sweet rose water! Never seen that before and it didn't disappoint. The food also didn't disappoint but the prices sure did. Entrees range from about $15-20 which I think is expensive for Mexican food. Sure, they have an inventive menu and present you with alternatives to the standard Mexican menu which I like. However I wasn't blown away with the taste and for that price I would expect some level of excitement over the taste. There was no real spice or flavor to get me hooked. Don't get me wrong, it was good just not great. Why would you pay $4 for a taco when you can get a $1 taco at tons of other places around Portland that will taste the same? I'd say the drinks were fabulous and I'd go back for cocktails but I don't see myself splurging on their food again any time soon.
