Nearby activities: Restaurants and bars.
Walkability: Right on the Streetcar line.
Noteworthy details: full stove/oven and full size fridge

image February 2023 update: my second visit unfortunately ended early due to my husband falling on some ice and breaking his arm. Despite missing the check-out window on Saturday, the front desk was super-accommodating and cancelled our second night without charge or penalty. Thank you, Inn at Northrup Station, for your customer care and service!
Cute, funky place in a vibrant neighborhood with great staff and amenities. I used to drive by it every day when I worked nearby and was always intrigued, so upon a recent return trip to Portland I was excited to stay here. Everything was great - no parking issues although we mainly walked and used the streetcar (really appreciated the complimentary passes!). Would definitely stay here again the next time I return to Portland.

image I'm not one who usually travels specifically for sports, but I was looking for accommodation near the Moda Center in December to attend two Trail Blazers games. The Inn at Northrup Station drew me in because of its incredibly positive reviews on multiple platforms, free parking, totally funky lounge dcor, and Slabtown location.
The inn did not disappoint! We appreciated the selection of coffee and tea in the room, the full kitchen (even though we ate dinner at restaurants every day), the little balcony attached to our rear-facing room with a small view of the area, and just the overall size of the living space. Breakfast, which was included in the reservation, had a good variety of items, and I loved that there was an espresso machine available for use at any time in the lobby.
Yes, we could hear the streetcar pass from inside our room, but I found that charming since Portland has some of the best public transit in the world. It was an authentic experience.
The staff was also warm, professional, helpful, and funky. They were able to advise us regarding transport, dinner, and keep the coffee pods flowing as needed. And lets hear it for the team of housekeepers who work as a group to keep the rooms incredibly tidy.
We took public transportation during our stay the free streetcar tickets given to us by the kind folks at the front desk, or Uber and my rental car (a BMW SUV) sat in the hotel parking lot, gathering leaves and rain, for three days and there were no issues.
Admittedly, I was a bit wary about the safety of the parking lot after reading other reviews, but perhaps bad experiences came from people who left valuables visible in their vehicles. We cleared out our car entirely upon checking in.
If we return to Portland for more basketball games, or just to explore the city more, well absolutely stay here again.
-Sign up for the Inn Crowd loyalty program when you book your stay. When you check in, a wonderful little snack box will be waiting for you in the kitchen of your room!
-Visit Coffee Time in the neighborhood if youd like to patronize a local caf.
SHOUT-OUT: The palm trees outside of the inn! Such an unexpected and fun sight in the gloomy December rain.
